When Sachin Tendulkar donated his entire salary

Date:

Sachin Tendulkar and yesteryears actress, Rekha were in media spotlight recently for drawing MPs salary from Rajya Sabha but, not getting involved in the process of law-making throughout their tenure.

Well, we don’t know about Rekha but, Sachin Tendulkar has certainly shut up all the wagging tongues with the Prime Minister’s office confirming that he has donated his entire salary and perks that was around Rs 90 lakhs to the PM’s Relief Fund.

PM Modi himself has come forward and appreciated his effort which should gladden the hearts of his legions of fans.

The PMO has also issued a letter of acknowledgment which states: “Prime Minister acknowledges this thoughtful gesture and conveys his gratitude. These contributions will be of immense help in providing assistance to the persons in distress.”

The lord of the cricket grounds actually has a heart of gold it seems. Tendulkar, it seems, has also made good use of the MP Local Area Development fund.

According to data released by Tendulkar’s office, he has claimed to have sanctioned 185 projects across the country with Rs 7.4 crore out of his allocated Rs 30 crore being used for educational and related structural development, including building and renovation of classrooms.

he also adopted two villages under the Sansad Gram Adarsh Gram Yojana Scheme, including Puttam Raju Kandriga in Andhra Pradesh and Donja in Maharashtra.
