Bollywood singer and music composer of Pakistani descent, Adnan Sami, hit back at a fan from the neighbouring country who took a dig at him for wishing his followers on the festive occasion of Gudi Padwa, Navratri and Ugadi on Sunday.

It all started with Adnan Sami’s tweets wishing his fans on the micro-blogging platform a happy Gudi Padwa, Navratri and Ugadi on Sunday. Here’s what he tweeted:

The Pakistani fan tweeted, “I hope u won’t forget to wish us Eid… “Hum Bhi Tu tey tumharay…Deevanay O Deevanay …” #Love from #Pakistan.”

Adnan Sami, who got Indian citizenship in 2016, gave a fitting reply to the troll by saying that Eid did not just belong to him, but to the entire Muslim community across the globe.

The singer also urged the fan to avoid making festive celebrations an ‘Indo-Pak subject’.

Adnan Sami’s tweet read, “My dear, Eid does not just belong to you, it belongs 2 the entire Muslim Ummah around d world. Kindly refrain from making celebrations into an Indo-Pak subject! Incidentally there r more Muslims in India than in Pakistan. ‘Kabhi Tho Nazar Milao, Kabhi Tho Kareeb Aao..’ love.💖😊”

Repeated ceasefire violations by Pakistan along the border has affected Indo-Pak relations severely. On Sunday, Pakistani troops violated ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Balakote sector of Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district, killing five civilians including three children and injuring two.
