Exam time is almost over; head out for a quick spring break to these popular destinations

Date:

After months of burning the night lamp, flipping through pages of course books and trying to balance all the physics and chemistry in the world – it’s time to leave all this behind and head to these holiday destinations for the much-needed break. And what can be more perfect than the ongoing spring weather. Spring in India is mainly a transition between winter and summer. The outdoors is still bearable and the weather just about right.
So, get your bags out and head to these beautiful locations with your loved ones.

Being an off-season period, air prices and hotel tariffs are also comparatively lower. It’s a perfect time to either embark on a beach holiday or the mountains in J&K and Himachal Pradesh. You could also head to south India to Kerala or trek the dessert state of Rajasthan one more time before the summers hit it off the list.

Most popular spring destinations

Himachal Pradesh – The snow starts to melt by February end and the turist season starts to pick up. A favourite with most people, this state will see visitors till October now. Head out to Kufri, Dalhousie, Shimla and Manali. Dharamshala and Spiti valley are also hot preferences these days.

Ladakh – With the advent of sunny days, this Buddhist paradise gears up for visitors wholeheartedly. Much has been spoken about Ladakh and its enthralling beauty. The hot locales are Markha Valley, Apricot Valley and Zanskar Valley trek.

Valley of Flowers – Located high in the Himalayas, Valley of Flowers is an exotic destination for spring travel in Uttaranchal. At a height of 3,600 meters, this place has always been a favourite. There are at least 500 species of flowers blooming on the valley slopes from March-June. The Himalayan blue poppy is the show stealer. You can also see daisy, calendula and orchids.

Goa beaches – A popular spring destination for beach lovers in western India, Goa is pleasant and tranquil especially in the southern region. Though it gets a little warm in the afternoons, yet the water, the energy and the cuisine of this place is pull enough.

Udaipur – Head to the city of lakes for the final adieu of the season. The breeze is still manageable. Blend with the locals or check in to one of the heritage properties for a relaxed and rejuvenated trip.

Wildlife sanctuaries – It is also a wonderful time to spot wildlife in the sanctuaries. The animals are just about coming out in the open and with warm temperatures increasing by the day, the water bodies are where their abode is. Calls for an experiential viewing!
