Going on a family vacation to the USA? Don’t miss these educational spots

Date:

For anyone travelling with family and children, the United States offers a range of fun and educational experiences. Here are the top attractions to keep travellers engaged and entertained:

The Field Museum in Chicago, Illinois

The Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago, Illinois, is famous for its Tyrannosaurus rex fossil named Sue, but also features mummies, totem poles and meteors. It’s perfect for kids of all ages, but those under six will especially like the interactive fun in the PlayLab.
You may choose to  skip the special exhibitions, which charges an additional fee, and keep your focus on the permanent collection, which is extensive and engrossing.

National Museum of Play in Rochester, New York

Magic is the word to describe The Strong: National Museum of Play in Rochester, New York and well all the kids love magic. Children aged three to 10 can shop at the supermarket that’s just their size and play in made-up snow.
The Strong’s National Toy Hall of Fame is a great place to show your kids toys from the past.

Space Camp in Huntsville, Alabama

Kids aged seven and up will love a visit to Space Camp at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama. They can explore space vehicles such as capsules and rockets. Sign up for a family camp and train for a mission to the International Space Station.
Even kids who aren’t especially interested in space will enjoy the simulator space rides, which are included with admission.

Cheyenne Frontier Days in Cheyenne, Wyoming

A summertime trip to the Western USA wouldn’t be complete without attending the world’s largest rodeo at Cheyenne Frontier Days in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Plan a mid-July visit to witness skills like steer roping and bronco riding, enjoy carnival rides and visit Indian Village and Frontier Town.

Do plan to attend a Grand Parade to see floats, marching bands, antique cars, tractors and horses.

LEGOLAND Florida Resort in Winter Haven, Florida

Tour the USA from coast to coast virtually at LEGOLAND Miniland in Winter Haven, Florida. Kids aged one to 10 can dig for dinosaur bones and ride a dragon roller coaster. Pack your bathing suits and float down the Build-A-Raft River in the large water park.
Save some room for a sweet snack of Granny’s Apple Fries served warm with vanilla whipped cream.

The San Diego Zoo in San Diego, California

The world-famous San Diego Zoo in San Diego, California, has something for every animal lover, including koalas, elephants, gorillas, hippos and polar bears. On weekends, pay a little extra to feed the giraffes.
If you only have part of a day to spend here, take a bus tour to cover more ground.
