Australia has something refreshingly new for those who love nature as much as they love camping but, hate the bugs and miss the luxuries of life – the Bubble tent retreat in New South Wales.
It makes an experience of a lifetime especially for the star-gazers. It’s been reviewed as one of the best locations for star-gazing through transparent dome tents. The inflatable, air-locked dome tents are set in a national parkland.
These tents, also called glamping tents, are placed 800 meters above a canyon floor, surrounded by pristine nature. The domes are named after different constellations – Leo, Virgo, Cancer etc.
A glittering blanket of stars appears as darkness descends. Campers can lie in the tent and watch the stars move across the horizon or photograph their movement sitting in the confines of their luxury retreat.
The dome tents are designed like the ice-domes in Iceland. They come fitted with mattress, pillows and other human essentials like slippers and gowns. There is even a small ensuite toilet attached.
The tents are allegedly pitched 200 km from Sydney, near the town of Running Creek, though the exact location is only revealed once the deposit has been paid by the client.
