Punjab chief minister refused meeting with Arvind Kejriwal to tackle with the Delhi smog

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, wanted to meet his counterparts in both Punjab and Haryana to discuss the issue of stubble burning, received a refusal from Amarinder Singh today.

Mr Kejriwal’s government has maintained that the smoke from the burning fields of Punjab and Haryana as the key contributing factor to the choking smog of the national capital. The Chief Minister, who, after much back and forth, managed to set up a meeting with Manohar Lal Lal Khattar, had pinged Mr Singh earlier today.

The Punjab Chief Minister had earlier called Mr Kejriwal a “peculiar person with views on everything but no understanding”.

This evening, a tweet from his media advisor contained his reply.
“Stop politicising the  issue, you know any meeting between us would be useless, and in any case now that the apex court is also seized of the matter, let us leave it to them and the central govt to find long-term solutions: @capt_amarinder to @ArvindKejriwal
