Authors, thinkers and the members of literati from across the country and beyond will all come together for a book festival called ‘books on the beach’. We hope it is as exciting as it sounds. Adding to the attraction is the venue of the fest – Kovalam this November!
The literature fest is being organized by a non –profit India book foundation, under the guidance of former Union Minister Shashi Tharoor, and is being supported by the Kerala Tourism.
Shashi Tharoor spoke to the media and said, “It is time we established a durable institution that showcases Thiruvananthapuram and Kerala as a place of ideas and culture. But a lit fest is not for visitors alone. It will also further energize the already vibrant reading culture in the state.”
The books on the beach fest will be a three-day event which includes several formal as well as informal sessions with writers, poets, essayists and environmentalists, artists and academics, reporters and editors. They will not only conduct readings but will also hold meaningful debates and dialogues on varying topics.
The event will showcase Kerala as a place of cultural ideation and will also bring forth the youthful energy of Kovalam.
This fest is definitely a must visit for all literature enthusiasts and also for those who are fascinated by this unique idea of books on the beach. It is a way to relax as well as to cherish the peaceful reading time that is quite difficult to get nowadays.
So all the literature enthusiasts – book your tickets and go for this festival!
