In their return to the smartphone market, Nokia had released three smartphones oriented towards the budget segment. Now with the budget segment catered for, the Finnish manufacturer is now setting its sights on the high-end segment of the market with the Nokia 8.
The most exciting feature visible from the leaks is the dual camera lenses carrying the Carl Zeiss branding on the camera module. Reports state that both cameras will be 13 megapixels, although the exact configuration of the cameras is yet to be revealed.
With the target of hitting the high-end market, it is expected to feature the latest Snapdragon 835 processor, a 5.3-inch, 2K display, 4GB or 6GB of RAM, and 64GB of storage. On the software end, Nokia will be sticking to a near-stock version of Android 7.1.1 Nougat.
The Nokia 8 will be positioned against the Samsung S8 and the LG G6 but lacks the end-to-end displays of both the phones. Nokia will be banking on an attractive pricing strategy to go up against the leading Android flagships.
