Kaspersky Lab has filed antitrust complaints against Microsoft in the European Commission, Russia’s Federal Antimonopoly Service, and the German Federal Cartel Office.
The Russian security software maker has filed the complaints claiming that Microsoft is using its dominant position in the computer operating system market to promote its own security software on the Windows 10 platform. Kaspersky claims that Microsoft removes Kaspersky’s software when users upgrade to Windows 10 while enabling Microsoft’s own software, Windows Defender.
In response, Microsoft has stated that their software complies with all competition laws and that the primary objective for Microsoft is to protect customers against digital threats.
