China unveils trackless train

China has unveiled a trackless train which runs on virtual railways to boost public transport in major cities of China. The Chinese Rail Corporation began testing the train in 2013 and is expected to be operational from 2018.

On June 2, The trains were announced in China’s Hunan Province and are said to be non-polluting according to the reports. The transit system uses rubber wheels on a plastic core with new Chinese copyright technology.

The train is just 100 feet in length and can commute 300 passengers in full capacity. The train has a range of 25 km in 10 minutes of charge with a top speed of 70km/hr. This trackless train is also made in 1/5th of the cost of subways, according to the reports.
