Microsoft launches Surface Pro with Kaby Lake processors

Microsoft has launched the latest refresh of its Surface Pro line. The refresh sees the Redmond based company drop the existing numbering scheme and shift to Intel’s latest 7th generation Kaby Lake processors.

The laptop-tablet will be offered with Intel Core m3, i5, and i7 processors and will be available in platinum, burgundy, and cobalt blue colours. The Type Cover and Surface Pen accessories for the Surface Pro will also be available in these colours. Microsoft have also introduced LTE connectivity on the Surface Pro, which will be available at a later date.

Microsoft have developed a new hinge system for the Surface Pro that allows the device to be rested at an angle of 165 degrees. The device will also be compatible with the Surface Dial, allowing users to access additional functionalities in supported applications. Microsoft also claims that the device has a 13.5 hour battery life.

The Surface Pro is available for pre-order in the US, with prices starting from $799 and the Type Cover and Surface Pen sold separately at $129 and $99, respectively.
