4500 petrol pumps to be closed on Sundays in Maharashtra

Federation of All Maharashtra Petrol Dealers Association (FAMPDA) has decided that all the petrol pumps will regard Sundays as a holiday and weekend as a half day with single shift from 9 to 6 in Maharashtra. The following decisions have been taken by the association in favor of supporting demands from the Oil Marketing Companies and Hike in the margin of dealers after 2011

The following decisions have been taken by the association in favor of supporting demands from the Oil Marketing Companies and Hike in the margin of dealers after 2011.

Around 4500 petrol pumps will be hit in Mumbai with 225 petrol pumps in Mumbai alone. Other states apart from Maharashtra including Karnataka, Kerela, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Puducherry, Haryana have also joined the pursuit and planning to implement this move.\

“By doing this petrol pumps will drastically reduce operational cost and this could have a huge impact on the public,” said a petrol pump owner.
