Can’s stunner help Liverpool edge past Watford

Date:

Hertfordshire [UK], May 2: Midfielder Emre Can’s stunning goal, which is probably one of the best of the season, helped Liverpool to capitalise on favourable results in the race for a Premier League top-four finish and beat Watford 1-0 on Monday.

Can produced a moment of magic that will be repeated on highlight reels for years to come as he met Lucas Leiva’s delivery with a wonderful bicycle kick which flew into the top corner just before the first half of the game, reports the media.

Liverpool went in search of a potentially priceless victory to boost their Champions League aspirations at Vicarage Road with Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal all dropping points a day earlier.

The Reds now move four points clear of Manchester United in fifth, while Watford remain 13th.

Jurgen Klopp’s side, who were beaten 2-1 by Crystal Palace last time out, know they can secure a top-four Premier League finish and a return to the Champions League for the first time in three seasons by winning their final three games.

Liverpool will now take on Southampton on May 7 while Watford will lock horns with Leicester City on May 6.
