Sonu Nigam tweets Azaan video

Date:

Singer Sonu Nigam is in no mood to take the criticisms that easy.  Last week he raised storm on social media after his tweets on the use of loudspeakers during Azaan. Today he again tweeted an Azaan video believed to be recorded from his flat in Andheri West, with a caption “Good Morning India”.

The singer cum actor also shaved his head in defiance of a ‘fatwa’ issued by Syed Sha Atef Ali Al Quaderi of the West Bengal Minority Council, who offered to pay Rs 10 lakh as a reward to have the singer go bald and garland him with old shoes. However, the Mr Quaderi refused to pay the amount saying Mr Nigam failed to check off all his conditions.

Many doubted Sonu that the loudspeaker controversy was uncalled for because the mosque he was referring in his locality was far away from his flat, so there was no chance of getting disturbed with the Azaan on loudspeaker.

Probably today’s tweet with the video recording is again Sonu’s act of defiance to those criticisms and his defense for his own words. The video recording tried to show the intensity of the sound reaching his Andheri flat, early in the morning.

Sonu had earlier lodged a complaint against the Mosque due to the usage of loudspeaker at the local police station but with no avail.

Sonu nigam has also been supported for his stand by other celebrities like Javed Akhtar, Anupam Kher and others. Today he tweeted “ One day u’ll all know, whtever I do wth my hair, is 2 wake up ppl from a slumber.” ( sic).
