RaGa detained after he tries to meet family of ex-servicemen committed suicide

Amid the suicide incident of ex-servicemen over the delay of OROP scheme, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi was detained at Mandir Marg police station along with Congress’ Randeep Surjewala and Kiran Choudhary after they were stopped at Ram Manohar Lohia on Wednesday afternoon as he tried to meet the relatives of Ram Kishan Grewal, the ex-serviceman who committed suicide.

Gandhi was detained for ‘disruption of duty’, Delhi’s anti corruption branch chief MK Meena. However, he was released soon afterwards.

“It is a hospital and not a place for demonstration,” said Meena, adding that police had also detained Grewal’s family members who had contacted politicians and held a demonstration at RML.

“No politician is allowed in the hospital and they were causing disturbances,” Meena said.
