DTC increases fares of AC buses by up to 10%

New Delhi: Commuting in DTC’s Air-Conditioned buses will be costlier in Delhi-NCR as fares on Wednesday are revised by up to 10% with immediate effect.

Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) has raised the minimum fare of AC buses from Rs 10 to Rs 11 and the maximum from Rs 25 to 27 for those travelling in the city.

Fares of DTC’s Airport Express Bus Service have also been revised with minimum fare now being Rs 27 from earlier Rs 25 and the maximum to Rs 106 instead of Rs 100.

However, there has been no change in the fares of the non-AC buses of DTC.

The state bus agency has also revised fares for children by up to 10%

A senior official said the passengers travelling up to 5 km in Noida region will have to shell out Rs 11 as against Rs 10 and the maximum fare will now be Rs 53 for travelling beyond 20 km.

“It is apprised that consequent upon the decision of the Government for payment of Services Tax on 40% revenue earned by AC buses of DTC, it has been decided by the competent authority to charge new AC bus fare with immediate effect,” DTC said.

The fare of Express Service, which mostly runs on Outer Ring Road, has been increased from Rs 30 to 32 while commuting up to 26 km and above in Gurgaon and Faridabad will cost passengers Rs 64 instead of Rs 60.

For Bahadurgarh in Haryana, the new fare for commuting up to three km will be Rs 6 against Rs 5.
