Air Vice Marshal Harinder Jeet Walia visits 48 Squadron

Chandigarh, Sep 10 (PTI) Air Vice Marshal Harinder JeetWalia visited 48 Squadron of the Indian Air Force here today. He was presented a ceremonial Guard of Honour byCommanding Officer Group Captain Khushpal Singh Lambha, adefence release said here. This is Walia’s first visit to the Squadron as CommodoreCommandant, who also serves as the Additional Director General(ADG) at headquarter DG, NCC. Addressing the squadron personnel, Walia asked them tokeep themselves updated in all aspects of the profession andenjoy it as a hobby, the release said. Each individual should also be aware of different policymatters with regard to the government welfare schemes forservice personnel, he said. The Air Vice Marshal also recalled his days in theSquadron during 1998. Walia is the alumni of the Defence Service Staff College,College of Air Warfare and National Defence College, therelease said. He was commissioned in the transport stream of Indian AirForce in June 1981 and has more than 5,000 hours of variedflying experience with extensive flying in the Eastern andNorthern Sectors, it said. Air Commander Arun Saklani, AOC 12 Wing and Group CaptainLambha received Walia, who is on a two-day official visit tothe city. PTI SUN SRY RGSRY
