GM recalls 22,000 units of Chevrolet Cruze in India

Following engine stall problem and loss of ignition at low vehicle speed, General motors have issued a voluntary recall of about 22000 units of Chevrolet Cruze in India. The recall will affect the sedan’s model manufactured between 2009-11.

GM says it will take less than one hour for the inspection of the cars and replacement or repair if needed.

“This is a voluntary recall and, as far as we are aware, does not affect the safety of the vehicle but we want to make sure that our customers experience the right performance from their vehicles”, said Markus Sternberg, Vice President – Aftersales, General Motors India.

The affected vehicles will be repaired free of cost at all GM service centers across the country. The Chevrolet Cruze customers will be asked to take their vehicles to their nearest Chevrolet service dealership for inspection with a prior appointment.
