Meanwhile, in neighbouring Thane, tribals from Thane,Raigad, Palghar and Nashik districts today took out a march toprotest the proposed internal security law. The tribals, attired in their traditional robes andcarrying banners and placards, walked up to the Collector’soffice from the Masunda Talao in the city under the banner ofShramajivi Sanghatana, an NGO working in their field of tribalwelfare. They also burnt draft copies of the bill and raisedslogans. Sanghatana president Vivek Pandit told reporters thatthe "draconian bill" is nothing but a tool to impose "dailyEmergency" (Emergency-like situation on a daily basis). He said those who opposed the Emergency of 1975 arenow themselves bringing in this kind of "Emergency" inMaharashtra which needs to be opposed strongly by everyone.PTI COR ARSKIS
