Man arrested, nephew detained for trying to kill neighbour

New Delhi, Aug 17 (PTI) A 38-year-old man has beenarrested and his juvenile nephew has been detained inconnection with the alleged attempt to murder their neighbourhere, police said today. Accused Deepak Sharma, a resident of Brahmpuri in northeast Delhi, has been arrested while his juvenile nephew hasbeen detained in connection with an attempt to murder theirneighbour Ashok, said AK Singla, DCP(north east). Accused Deepak and his nephew had allegedly shot at Ashokand injured him on August 5. A case of attempt to murder wasregistered at New Usmanpur police station and investigationwas launched. During interrogation Deepak accused Ashok who worked as aproperty dealer of having a bad eye on his sister-in-law andusing filthy language against her. He had hatched the plan toeliminate Ashok and involved his minor nephew in it. The duo purchased a new motorcycle and a gun from a localgoon to execute their plan. Deepak told his family that he wasvisiting the religious shrine of Mehandipur Balaji inRajasthan. But he went alongwith his nephew to shoot Ashok whosustained a bullet injury. Following the attack on Ashok, they went to Ghonda Chowkand hid the motor cycle. They took a bus from Dhaula Kuan andreached Jaipur. Later, they took another bus to Balaji and kept ticketsas proof, the officer said. Deepak also made sure that he was covered in CCTV camerasand entered the details in register in his own handwriting atMehandipur Balaji.
