Parle closes the Ville Parle factory

Date:

87 year old Parle G biscuit factory at Ville Parle was closed. Started in 1939, it is the world’s largest selling biscuit brand. Decline in the production of the factory output, led to its closure.
Arup Chauhan, Parle Products executive director, said “Production at the time of closure was negligible. It didn’t make commercial sense to keep it running.”

Set up in 1929, the factory manufactured candies, it ventured into biscuit production in 1939.

Parle has opened its gates to the kids, so that they could understand the world of candies and biscuits.
