The body of a 25-year-old student from Hyderabad who was stabbed to death in Austin, Texas was brought to India on Sunday night. Gundam Sankeerth was allegedly attacked by his roommate on July 19.
Sankeerth’s body arrived at Rajiv Gandhi airport, Hyderabad at Sunday night and was taken to his home. His parents, Gundam Vijay Kumar and Ramadevi were initially told that Sankeeth had met with an accident and was in Coma.
“A month ago, he got an H1B visa through a lucky draw. He was very happy and said he wanted to settle down in the US. He would chat with his family everyday over Skype and was very happy,” K Srinivas, Vijay Kumar’s brother in-law said.
Sankeerth had gone to US two and a half years ago after completing his BTech from TKR Engineering college in Hyderabad. He pursued the Masters in Science programme there and then took up a job earlier in 2016.
