NIT Bhopal felicitates top Silicon Valley investor Venkatesh Shukla in Delhi

In a function marked with nostalgia and some candid advice to the budding entrepreneurs, the Delhi alumni chapter of MA National Institute of Technology, Bhopal hosted felicitation dinner for its prominent alumni and venture capitalist Venkatesh Shukla, also an alumni MIT Boston, who played a pivotal role in organising Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit and launching of Digital India campaign in the Silicon Valley.

Shukla, a former Indian Revenue Service, is the President of the Indus entrepreneurs, the prime body of the top venture investors.

The Delhi Chapter of NIT Bhopal Alumni association has been very active and focused on nation building and provides a forum for Ex NIT-Bites, who have contributed to different walks of life, to provide their suggestions on various issues which will enable nation building and provide mentoring for recent and young graduates.

The NIT Bhopal Delhi alumni cell is also serving as a platform for young and recent graduates to interact with senior alumni who have contributed nationally and internationally in the cultural space, public administration, finance, sports, media, theatre, films and literature to give suggestions to the Government, international organisations and institutions

Shukla spoke passionately on how innovation was at the key of the startup ecosystem and how Indians were leading the top corporations in the US. He also patiently heard the students with their start-up ideas and adviced them on the way forward.

The gathering also included special guests like Amlok Ratan Kohli, the former Governor of Mizoram also presided over this function who spoke about skill development.

The Editor-in-Chief and Co-Founder of NewsMobile Saurabh Shukla also attended the function as a special guest and spoke about the startup NewsMobile’s attempt to rope in professionals as part of its iJourno programme.

The felicitation was attended by more than 40 prominent alumni of NIT Bhopal including legislators and civil servants. Ed Daniel & Abhay Kandelwal (1967 alumni) co-organised the event supported by Charul Shukla, Abhishek Gupta, Dharanidharan S, Arpit Agarwal and Ketan Jain.
