Train services resume from Chennai Central

Chennai: After days of interrupted services due to Chennai floods, train services have been resumed from the Chennai Central station on Sunday.

The schedules are expected to return to normal from Monday.

The station, which had halted its services due to torrential rains and massive waterlogging, still looked empty as only few trains are scheduled for Sunday.

The first train of the day,’Chennai Central – Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Andaman’ express left Chennai Central at 5:15 am.

Train No.12007 ‘Chennai Central – Mysore Shatabdi’ express also left as scheduled.

The following regular train services will be operated from Chennai Central railway station from today onwards.

1. Train No.16031 Chennai Central – Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Andaman express scheduled to leave Chennai Central at 05.15 hrs.

2. Train No.12007 Chennai Central – Mysore Shatabdi express scheduled to leave Chennai Central at 06.00 hrs.

3. Train No.12077 Chennai Central – Vijayawada Jan Shatabdi express scheduled to leave Chennai Central at 07.35 hrs.

4. Train No.12639 Chennai Central – Bangalore Brindavan express scheduled to leave Chennai Central at 07.50 hrs.

5. Train No.12842 Chennai Central – Howrah Coromandal express scheduled to leave Chennai Central at 08.45 hrs.

6. Train No.16003 Chennai Central – Nagarsol express scheduled to leave Chennai Central at 09.15 hrs.

7. Train No.12615 Chennai Central – New Delhi Grand Trunk express scheduled to leave Chennai Central at 19.15 hrs.

8. Train No.16021 Chennai Central – Mysore Kaveri express scheduled to leave Chennai Central at 21.00 hrs.

9. Train No.12671 Chennai Central – Coimbatore / Mettupalayam Nilagiri express scheduled to leave Chennai Central at 21.15 hrs.

10. Train No.12621 Chennai Central – New Delhi Tamil Nadu express scheduled to leave Chennai Central at 22.00 hrs.

Chennai Airport is expected to resume its commercial flight services from today as well as the DGCA has cleared passenger flights to function.

Meanwhile, rescue and relief operations are in full swing as the Army, Navy and the NDRF are working consistently to provide the stranded people with medicines and amenities while also evacuating them to safer locations.
