Meet the all new McLaren 675LT Spider

Date:

McLaren has officially revealed the convertible version of its hardcore performance car, the 675LT. The new car has been called the 675LT Spider. It is the British carmaker’s fifth new model this year.

The McLaren 675LT Coupe was revealed at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show as a more extreme version of the already outrageously quick 650S.

The Spider packs a twin-turbo 3.8-litre V8 producing 666 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. At 2,800 pounds, it is 88lbs heavier than the 675LT coupe but 220lbs lighter than the lesser 650S Spider.

The supercar accelerates from a standstill to a 100 kmph in just 2.9 seconds and to 200 kmph in just 8.1 seconds and it goes on to a top speed of 326 kmph. The car returns 8.57 kms to a litre of fuel and gives out carbon dioxide emissions of 275 g/km.

Aside from the roof, the McLaren 675LT Spider also gets special optional 20-inch wheels, a new paint shade called Solis and special contrast stitching for the interiors.

Priced at $372,600, about $23,000 more than the 675LT coupe, all 500 examples of the 675LT Spider are likely to sell out quickly. Just like the coupe, the 675LT Spider will be a limited run edition. Only 500 will be built and deliveries will start in the summer of next year.
