21-year-old man falls to death off Mumbai local; captured on video

Mumbai: In tragic incident in a Mumbai local, a 21-year-old lost his life after he fell from the moving train. It happened as he lost his grip in an overcrowded suburban train.

The incident was caught on camera by a fellow passenger, and subsequently, went viral.

The 21-year old was identified as Bhavesh Nakate, a resident of Dombivli, who had taken a CST-bound train from Dombivli station to reach his office in CST.

The video, shot by a person inside the train, shows a smiling Nakate hanging by a steel pole of the compartment and asking the crowd to move in and give him space.

A few seconds later, Nakate’s grip on the pole loosened and a horrified Nakate fell from the speeding train.

Nakate fell between Kopri and Diva stations. Officials were informed about the accident by a fellow traveller.
“Railway officials reached the spot and ferried him to a hospital with the help of locals. However, he had died by then,” an official of Dombivli railway station said.
