Indian YouTuber uploading child abuse videos gets exposed by online petition

Date:

A petition on Change.org has flagged the issue of disturbing child abuse videos which are being uploaded on YouTube by a user who claims to be a ‘tuition teacher’.

The petition by Tejaswini Naik says that the videos show Indian children in a village setting, in front of a blackboard in the open. The children are taught to mouth highly objectionable lines in English. The lines also turn obscene in some of the videos.

Sample some of the lines: “Adolf Hitler did nothing wrong”, “Feminism is Cancer”, “I’m not gay, but $20 is $20”, and “I get more a** than a toilet seat.”

According to the petitioner, the children featured in the videos are all aged between 8-10 years.

The petitioner writes, “A ‘tuition teacher’ is charging 5 dollars to make these innocent children say these perverted lines and have their videos put up on the internet.

Indian children are on sale for the world to do with as they please. If this disturbs and disgusts you, sign my petition asking YouTube to take down these videos immediately.”

In her letter to YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki, Naik writes:

“There is a teacher who is exploiting poor, village children by making money off their videos. These videos feature disturbing content that is in very poor taste. They also feature children’s faces in obscene videos and potentially endangers them. It also encourages people to put up similar services and make money off unsuspecting children. Take down these obscene videos exploiting Indian children.”

It is to be seen if YouTube responds to the petition, which is slowly gaining traction, with 44,177 supporters already.
