In a major embarrassment for India, the Indian flag at the ASEAN Summit was hoisted upside down.
The flag, hoisted on a stand alongside that of Japan, was in the background of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Japan President Shinzo Abe’s customary handshake at the Summit.
The Ministry of External Affairs is yet to react to the incident.

According to the latest reports, Malaysian Government has offered an apology for the faux pas.
