Mumbai: The Khiladi is all set to set the silver screen on fire with his upcoming flick Airlift. Its creating a lot of buzz ever since superstar Akshay Kumar shared the first poster of the movie, based on the biggest evacuation of Indians based in Kuwait during the Iraq-Kuwait war (1990-91).
The movie, directed by Raja Krishna Menon, also stars “The Lunchbox” actress Nimrat Kaur.
The black-and-white poster shows an aircraft flying above a runway, laden with smoke and fume.
Written on the poster is, “1,70,000 Refugees, 488 Flights, 59 days, 1 man.”
“Mark the date guys… @AirliftFilm releases on 22nd January, 2016. #AirliftTeaserOnWednesday,” Akshay captioned the poster.
The 48-year-old actor further tweeted, “How many people know about the Kuwait evacuation? I’m proud to be part of a film that brings this true story alive.”
Excited about her hubby’s upcoming film, Twinkle Khanna also expressed her views on the first look on Twitter.
