Guangzhou: Indian tennis ace Sania Mirza and her Swiss partner Martina Hingis produced an impressive performance to storm into the women’s doubles final of the Guangzhou Open on Friday.
The top seeded Indo-Swiss pair claimed a 6-3, 6-4 win over the Julia Glushko and Rebecca Peterson in a thrilling semi-final contest that lasted an hour and 11 minutes.
Mirza and Hingis will next face either Chinese pair Xu Shilin-You Xiaodi or Klaudia Jans Ignacik-Anastasia Rodionova in the summit clash.
The Indo-Swiss pair has won two Grand Slams at Wimbledon and US Open since joining forces earlier this year in March.
