New Delhi: In another tragic incident at Mecca, 220 people are feared dead and more than 450 injured in a stampede during Haj pilgrimage outside Mecca. Meanwhile 4,000 pilgrims have been rescued so far.
The stamped took place during the devil-stoning ritual in which Muslim pilgrims fling pebbles at three walls in Mina. Thursday was the last day of the Haj pilgrimage and the holy place accommodated around 20-30 lakh pilgrims.
Reports suggested that there was a rumour spread leading to massive commotion in the complex.
