Cop carries lawmaker in J&K, pic goes viral

Date:

Jammu: When BJP’s Jammu and Kashmir lawmaker Krishan Lal climbed on the back of a constable to cross a stream, little did he expect that the picture would go viral.

“What is wrong?” questioned the lawmaker in response to criticism, saying that the constable had been employed by the government to help him.

Lal said in the past, when he came to the area as a doctor, he crossed the stream on his own for years. But now, as lawmaker, he has a constable and it is his duty to serve a public representative.

“This is not misuse of power, the government has hired the PSO (Personal Security Officer) to help me, what is wrong if he helped me cross the stream?” Lal said.

The lawmaker from Chhamb assembly seat said the constable offered to carry him.

“No this is not bonded labour, he volunteered to carry me on his back, we are here to help each other, we both are public servants,” he said.
