CPI leader blames Sunny Leone’s condom ads for rise in rape cases

Date:

New Delhi: Senior CPI leader Atul Anjan is the latest politico to join the league of India’s sexist political class.

In a video, Anjan claimed that actor Sunny Leone’s Manforce condom advertisements are responsible for rapes in the nation.

In the video he claims that Leone is from Australia (she’s actually from Canada) and that Mahesh Bhatt brought her to the country and made her a heroine.

He also goes on to explain the impacts of watching porn films and laid the blame for the rising rape cases on such advertisements. He claimed such advertisements promote sexuality and ruined people’s sensibilities.

Atul Anjan is not the only Indian politician to make foot-in-mouth misogynist comments, earlier, Sri Ram Sene Leader Pramod Muthalik had claimed that Sunny Leone should be deported because her porn videos were apparently responsible for promoting rapes, kidnapping and murder in society. He had claimed that that she should be deported.

“Her (pornographic) videos are more popular than today’s item songs; she is more popular than Narendra Modi and has a larger fan base,” he further said.

He also claimed that the videos had an adverse effect on children and claims that a young boy fell ill after checking Leone’s website.

This is the advertisement that made Atul Anjan vomit
