When Ranjani Shanker was stuck in Bengaluru during a short vacation, she didn’t know whether calling a cab would be a safe option.
She tried, nevertheless, without any success, of course.
That’s when she booked an auto via Ola Auto app on her phone and that’s how Ghasamfar Ali landed to pick her up. She had to go to Kanakpura Road, about 38 km away, and naturally, she was scared.
However, she didn’t really know she would be pleasantly surprised. Ali had forewarned her that the roads would be dark, while sticking to the route she chose via google maps.
He tried to soothe her nerves by constantly telling her that there would be no trouble. When she reached her destination, her friend, who was supposed to pick her, was nowhere around. That’s when there was another unexpected gesture from Ali. He insisted on waiting there till her friend arrived.
And wait he did, without causing any trouble or expected problems. Ranjani’s post him made him a social media hero, obviously, because in times when there are the notorious reports flying around everywhere, an auto driver protecting his customer is indeed a rare story. Heartwarming too.
