NIA releases sketches of 2 LeT terrorists who accompanied Naved

Date:

National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday released sketches of two LeT terrorists who had infiltrated India from Pakistan along with Muhammad Naveed Yakub, the main accused in the Udhampur terror attack.

The sketches were drawn on the basis of Naveed’s description of the duo, identified as Zargham alias Mohammad Bhai and Abu Okasha. While Zargham is around 40-year-old, Abu is said to be a teen, barely 18-year-old. Both are the residents of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Pakistan.

NIA said these terrorists have crossed over into the Indian territory with the intention to commit terrorist attack and that they are wanted.

Naved has reportedly told the investigators that he had undergone a refresher course for six weeks in Pakistan from March this year with 25 others before infiltrating into Kashmir.

This was after he had undergone two training modules – ‘Daura-e-Aam’ and ‘Daura-e-Khas’. While the first module teaches the LeT cadres physical fitness, mountaineering and use of small arms, in the second they are trained in using assault rifles and manufacturing small explosives.

Meanwhile, NIA has announced a reward of Rs 5 lakh each on the two absconding terrorists.

“Any person from public, who will give any fruitful reliable information about the whereabouts of these terrorists, leading to their arrest will be rewarded as mentioned above. The identity of the informer will be kept secret,” NIA press release said.

At least four terrorists had entered India in June. Naved and his accomplice Noman were assigned the task to attack security forces. While Noman was killed in the encounter with the BSF jawans, Naved was captured with the help of three civilians.
