Terrorists attack on Punjab police station kills 2; live bombs found

Date:

Gurdaspur, Punjab: Terrorists in army uniform attacked a police station in Punjab’s Gurdaspur, close to the border with Pakistan, on Monday morning, killing two policemen and injuring several others. The attackers are still firing at the Dinanagar police station.

Five live bombs have also been found on a railway track between Dinanagar and Pathankot.

According to reports, the attackers — three or four — came in a white Maruti car – which they hijacked – and opened fire at the police station. The two policemen killed were on guard duty.

The gunmen are still inside the police station. The police have cordoned off the area.

Dinanagar borders Pathankot where there are many key Army establishments.

Senior police officials have reached the spot.
