London: The Charleston shooting case is coming to a quick closure. Dylann Roof, the man accused of killing nine black people at Charleston Church in South Carolina, has been indicted on charges of federal hate crimes.
The Charges
According to BBC, the US State Department has indicted Roof on 33 federal charges, including nine murders, three attempted murders and gun charges.
US Attorney General Loretta Lynch said that Roof had specifically targeted an African American church for his hate crimes.
The Punishment
If the 21-year-old is convicted, he could face death penalty.
Roof is accused of killing nine black parishioners after joining their bible study at the Emanuel AME Church in Charleston on 17 June.
