Bomb warning on bathroom mirror grounds Turkish aircraft

New Delhi: A Turkish Airline flight with 148 passengers on board made an emergency landing at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport following a bomb threat on Tuesday.

According to reports, there was a message, written in lipstick, on bathroom mirror of Turkish Airlines flight informing about a bomb in the luggage compartment. However, no explosive has been found. 

The Turkish airlines flight TK-65 which was going from Bangkok to Istanbul has been isolated. The pilot approached the Delhi Air Traffic Control, following which he was granted priority landing permission under full emergency conditions.

Emergency has been declared at the airport and passengers have been evacuated. 

The flight is being inspected by a team of NSG, CISF and Delhi Police. Passengers are being quizzed by security forces. 

An emergency meeting of airport, civil aviation and Bureau of Civil Aviation Security officials is on. Home Minister Rajnath singh spoke to DG CISF over phone who apprised him of the situation at the IGI airport post the emergency landing.

Istanbul flight (TK065, A 330 aircraft, carrying 134 passengers) has diverted to Delhi after a possible bomb threat. 

The plane has already landed in Delhi and all of our passengers and cabin crew have been safely evacuated and taken to the terminal building. 

Necessary safety checks are currently taking place. 

Furthermore, precautions have been taken for towing the aircraft out of its current place, and this is currently in progress.
