Krishnagiri: Three teachers of a higher secondary school at Hosur in Tamil Nadu were arrested on Friday for allegedly leaking the question paper for the Class 12 board exam through WhatsApp.
Police identified the arrested teachers as Mahendran, Govindhan, Udayakumar, who are working at the Vijay Vidyalaya Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Hosur.
The Hosur police said they were searching for one more teacher in connection with the issue.
The teachers were on exam duty at Parimalam Matriculation Higher School in the area on Wednesday. Mahendran took the photo of the mathematics question paper with his smartphone and sent it to other teachers through WhatsApp.
“Invigilators should not use cellphones in the exam hall. But he used his cellphone despite our severe warning,” Krishnagiri district chief educational officer M Ramasamy told TOI.
