Young girl beaten up by bikers in Uttar Pradesh

Hathras: A young college student and her friend were abused and thrashed by six men for over ten minutes in Hathras in Uttar Pradesh.

The entire onslaught was filmed by one of the attackers on his mobile phone and was circulated on the mobile messaging application Whatsapp. The video shows a youth being hit with a branch and the girl getting slapped by the assaulters. 

Four out of six men have been arrested in Hathras. According to the female student, her friend and she were in a market area on a motorcycle when a gang of six men, who were also on bikes, surrounded them and forced them to ride to an isolated area. 

The girl said, “They abused and beat us repeatedly. I begged them to leave us, but they continued to misbehave and called me names”.

The girl further recounted that after they were thrashed, the bikers abandoned them and left for town. 

According to reports, the assaulters are from the same village as the girl and one of them was reportedly in love with the girl. The girl also said that she was initially reluctant to reveal the encounter with her family but after they got to know about the assault through Whatsapp they contacted the police.
