Crude bombs found outside UP Governors residence

Date:

Lucknow: One person was today taken into custody by the police for trying to enter the high-security Governor’s house in a car that contained three country-made bombs.

Upon being checked, three bombs were recovered from it, police said.

The car was carrying some material of the horticulture department team for a flower exhibition scheduled in Raj Bhawan premises on Feb. 21 and 22, they said.

Upon recovering the bombs, the security personnel informed the police, who took Sharma away for questioning, they said.

In the preliminary interrogation, Sharma has informed that the bombs were crackers meant for a wedding ceremony that he attended in Mohanlalganj area last night and had forgotten to take them out, police added.
