Gurgaon: Man mugged in Nirvana Country

Date:

Gurgaon: A resident of Nirvana Country in Gurgaon was mugged on Sunday night, right outside the main entrance of the society.

Rahul Jakhmola was attacked when he was out for a casual stroll around 9:30 pm, when someone grabbed him from behind near the club patio.

The victim called for help, but no one arrived to help him. He managed to punch the accused and flee the scene.

The incident raises questions on security issues in the mind of every resident, within the residential society, as well as in the city.

“I escaped unhurt, but this has burst my bubble of security which had convinced me that Nirvana country is a safe place to walk in. I shudder to think if the similar situation would have come across a child going to his tuition or some old lady taking a stroll,” the victim said.

“Security is a big issue at Nirvana, we have tried to convey this to Unitech multiple times and also convince them to agree for us to arrange our own security. But there response is awaited,” Sanu Kapila, President RWA Nirvana, said.

Despite various attempts, Gurgaon ACP could not be contacted for her quote.
