Virudhunagar: A Class VIII student was allegedly stabbed to death by his estranged friend in a class room of a government school in Tamil Nadu on Friday. The incident has triggered tension among the students and public.
G Baskar, 13, was stabbed with a sharp-edged weapon thrice in the forehead by the assailant at Pandaludi near Aruppukottai even as fellow students watched in horror, police said.
The boy was rushed to a hospital, but died on the way.
Personal enmity was stated to be the reason behind the murder, which occurred around 9am before the classes started for the day, police said.
 A case had been registered against the assailant, also a minor and a former student of the school, they said, adding he is absconding.
 Local residents blocked road traffic demanding action against the culprit.
