Exit Polls Predict Modi Sarkar in Maha Haryana

Date:

Gurgaon: BJP will read good news in the high voter turnout in Maharashtra and Haryana that voted for new governments on Wednesday. Haryana recorded its highest ever turnout at 73% and Maharashtra at 62%, among the highest in 15 years, according to the Election Commission. Votes will be counted on Sunday.

While all exit polls have clearly put BJP way ahead of its rivals, News24-Today’s Chanakya gives the party absolute majority in both Maharashtra and Haryana. Congress is on a downslide and its 15-year-old reign in the state in alliance with NCP is coming to an end if the exit poll prediction come true on October 19.

BJP is on a surge and News24-Today’s Chanakya exit poll shows the party crossing the half-way mark of 144 easily and reaching 151 seats, Shiv Sena 71, Nationalist Congress Party 28, Congress just 27 and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena 11.

India TV-C Voter exit poll in Maharashtra gives BJP 124-134 seats, Shiv Sena 51-61, Congress 38-48, NCP 31-41, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena 9-15 and others 9-15. Maharashtra has 288 seats in the Assembly and the magic figure to form the government is 145.

According to TIMES NOW, BJP is likely to bag 129 seats followed by its former ally Shiv Sena at 56, Congress a distant third at 43, NCP 36, MNS 12 and others just 12.

Even ABP News-Nielsen puts BJP at pole position but also predicts a hung assembly in Maharashtra. BJP may fall short of the half-way mark in the 288-member Maharashtra Assembly but still at touching distance of forming the government with 127 seats. Shiv Sena is also expected to do well and win 77 seats while Congress may get just 40 seats. Only 34 candidates of NCP are likley to emerge the winner with MNS winning only 5 seats and others also getting 5.

Haryana exit poll figures:

News24-Today’s Chanakya shows that Congress’s 10-year rule is coming to an end with BJP securing absolute majority in the 90-member Assembly by winning 52 seats. Om Prakash Chautala’s Indian National Lok Dal may secure 23 seats while Congress will end third with only 10 seats.

India TV-C Voter exit poll also projects BJP as the dominant force in the state with 34-40 seats. INLD will come second at 25-31 seats, Congress 12-18, Haryana Janhit Congress and its allies 3-9 while others may bag 1-7 seats.

TIMES NOW gave 37 seats to BJP, 15 to Congress, 28 to INLD, 6 to HJC combine and 4 to others.

According to ABP News-Nielsen, BJP may cross the half-way mark with 46 seats followed by INLD at 29, Congress 10, HJC+ 2 and others 3.

It was the first major elections since Prime Minister Narendra Modi stormed to power at the Centre on a pledge to reform the economy. BJP dumped its allies in both states and has banked solely on what it calls the “Modi wave,” turning this into a test of his popularity.
