First man to buy iPhone 6 in Oz becomes first to drop it

Date:

Perth: Moments after a young boy named Jack Cooksey left the Perth Apple Store with one of the first iPhone 6 unit’s ever sold in the world; he also became the first to drop it.

After getting out of the store with his new iPhone 6, Jack was swarmed by local news aiming to get the first look of the bigger than big display in his hands. Struggling to release his prize from its pristine white tomb, Jack’s excitement shook the box open as cameras watched the iPhone 6 slip out and slam onto the concrete.

However, Jack, breathing a sigh of relief, tells the crowd and reporter that it’s “all good, all good,” but he was clearly focused on some damage to the screen. Jack then rubs his finger over the edge of the iPhone 6 closest to the camera until the video cuts back to a shocked newscaster.

Later he took to twitter saying: “iPhone is all good to those asking! No damage. Survived the first Apple drop test!!!!”

Meanwhile, after days of sleeping rough outside flagship stores, eager Apple fans have finally got their hands on the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

Demand is so high that people have been selling their place in queues for thousands, and Apple has been limiting customers to two phones each.

In London, hundreds of people outside Covent Garden and Regent Street packed away their tents as they jostled to get their hands on the new phones.

Sam Sheikh, 27, based in east London said he’d been waiting there for more than three days to bag his gold coloured iPhone 6 Plus, and was the first customer in the UK to get his phone.

Standing at the front door of the shop he said: ‘I’m very excited. I came last week and started queuing with my friends.

‘Last time this happened, unfortunately I couldn’t get the phone I wanted. So this time I decided I had to get it…I didn’t want to lose out.’

Security staff kept people inside huge festival style barriers that stretched the entire length of Covent Garden up to the Royal Opera House entrance – some 320 metres.

Sheikh’s friend Jameel Ahmed, 26, from Harrow, added that he’s excited to test out his new phone’s features.
