They hope to dispose of their previous model stock before the iPhone 6 arrives on the shelves.
For instance, Amazon has slashed the price of iPhone 5 by as much as 29% and is offering the device for $490 – a steep drop from $700. In fact, various retailers have been offering different discounts of the iPhone 5 since speculation regarding the release of iPhone 6 flooded the Internet. Now, the customers can save about $200 when purchasing the iPhone 5.
Considering the hype over the iPhone 6, it’s unknown whether or not consumers will take the discount bait and buy an iPhone 5.
