New Delhi: For a working couple the budget may not have drastic effects, but it still holds great meaning in terms of a growing GDP for the country. For Sanjeev and his wife Ramya, the new government’s budget holds great promise for the coming years, “The Modi Govt has started on a positive note we should see better budget in the coming years after the hapless Congress governmentâ€.  The hope for a better economy rings through with this couple who consider this budget as a path to India finally being equipped for growth.
“The budget effects each and every individual be it young, married, oldâ€, and with the promise of more spending capabilities it will only raise the economy.
In terms of foreign electronic products and gadgets costing more, for the couple the increase means nothing. “India is equipped with enough products and going to foreign brands for them seems of no useâ€. Instead they believe that the country should work together in promoting Indian made products which would in the end help every citizen. Â
The High taxation of tobacco is welcomed as a “good law†not just for smokers but non-smokers alike. The couple believe the law would help passive smokers, who have no choice but to inhale the deadly fumes.
While the tax of tobacco grows, footwear and clothing will be cheaper. From the perspective of a married guy, Sanjeev thinks the spending would increase. Also, an average family would be able to afford more of the clothing and footwear that they would have wanted. Even housing loans would help an individual or a family to own their own homes, “a very positive move by the governmentâ€.
Many things introduced have been received positively by the couple, but one negative point they brought forward was the complete brushing aside of Medical Insurance Premium (under section 80 D) which was speculated to increase from Rs 15,000 to Rs 50,000.
