New Delhi: The much awaited monsoon reached Delhi-NCR on Thursday bringing down temperatures in the national capital. The rains brought some respite from a torrid summer.
The Met department has said that the south west monsoon has further advanced into the whole of Delhi and parts of Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan.
The showers inundated some low-lying areas in the twin states of Haryana and Punjab with several city roads waterlogged in Chandigarh on Wednesday. Rainfall also occurred in Rajasthan on Wednesday where Kajuwala recorded rainfall of 40mm in the last 24 hours. Bikaner, Sriganganagar and Hanumangarh districts got 10-30mm rain. Monsoon is expected to cover whole of Rajasthan by July 6 or 7
