New Delhi: Amit Shah, close aide of Prime Minister Modi, is likely to become the next BJP president. Sources say RSS has already endorsed the decision and an official declaration will be made before the Budget session.
Earlier on Wednesday, incumbent BJP chief Rajnath Singh said discussions on appointment of his successor in the organisation were “still on”.
Singh, along with senior party leaders including Arun Jaitley and Nitin Gadkari, is reported to have held discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the issue.
Singh had announced that he will quit the party post soon keeping in view the party’s principle of one-man-one-post. BJP general secretaries Amit Shah, J P Nadda and Om Prakash Mathur are in the race for the top party post.
