A solar car from Gwalior

Gwalior: In a first-of-its kind, a car that runs on battery and solar energy, has been successfully test-run. This is an eco-friendly AC hybrid car which can run up to 70 km in one go. The four batteries installed in it get charged in 4 units of electricity.  

The credit for the invention goes to ITM group of institutions in Gwalior. The student inventors have named the two-seater car after a latin word ‘Renovatey’ (pronounced as reno-vaa-tey) which means rebirth in English.

“We have kept its name renovatey because we will keep introducing new features in the car,” said Ajay Kumar, one of the innovators.
